What do employers expect today from young professionals and universities in Serbia?

On-line survey on employers is conducted in the period from 16 January until 16 March 2013 within the Tempus project "Development of Career Guidance Aimed at Improving Higher Education in Serbia", which is lead by the University of Belgrade.  

WHAT? 

The questionnaire "What do employers expect today from young professionals and universities in Serbia?" is created for the purpose of strengthening the cooperation links between higher education and labour market.

It is developed to meet the following goals:

  • Collecting data about labour market needs in terms of profile of future employees
  • Collecting data about current knowledge about the higher education reforms and missing info.

This questionnaire is result of the mutual cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Ministry for Youth and Sport, leading Serbian universities, and other partners in this Tempus project. 

WHY PARTICIPATE?

By filling this questionnaire employers will help Serbian universities to create functional program to cooperate with labour market.

Employer's answers will help to:

  • Develop services of university career centers,
  • Organize round tables with academic community, professors and students  of Serbian universities where results of these questionnaire will be presented, and Universities will have more insight in needs of labour market,
  • Create a useful brochure for employers that meet their needs defined by this questionnaire
  • Create a new web platform for career information for students, parents and academic and business community

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

Employers are invited to fill in the online survey which takes around 15 minutes. The ones interested to receive the results can enter their email in the field designed for this, and all those interested to join the future project activities can leave their contacts in the form and will be contacted by the Careers project team.

Beograd, 1.mart 2013 - U izveštaju Ministarstva omladine i sporta o sprovođenju strategije karijernog vođenja i savetovanja u Republici Srbiji za period od marta 2010. godine do marta 2012. godine naveden je projekat CareerS i najveći deo našeg konzorcijuma koji svojim aktivnostima doprinosi ostvarivanju ciljeva postavljenih Strategijom.

The First Annual CareerS Conference held in Belgrade

the-first-annual-careers-conference-held-in-belgradeBelgrade, 5 December 2012 – In the Building of the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade today was held the first annual conference of the Tempus project “CareerS – Development of Career Guidance aimed at improving higher education in Serbia”.

Participants of the conference with a theme “University career centers – support to professional development of students” were greeted by prof. dr Ivanka Popovic, Vice Rector of the University of Belgrade and prof. dr Slobodan Stupar, Assistant to Minister of Education, Science and Technological development of Serbia who opened the conference with welcome speeches.

Key speech on the project “CareerS – Development of Career Guidance aimed at improving higher education in Serbia” – which has among its goals development of Services for Career Information, Guidance and Education aiming to increase youth employability, enabling wider accessibility and variety of programs in Career guidance at Higher Education Institutions, raising the level of recognizing importance of Career Guidance by the policy makers and other stake holders and development of Career Guidance and Counselling Programme for the age group 19-30 and Methodology for CGC centers at Serbian HE institution – was given by project coordinator Dejana Lazic, Head of the Centre for Career Development and Student Counselling of the University of Belgrade.

The conference program was continued with speeches on the strategic aspect of the project CareerS – realization of the measures and activities of the National Strategy for Career Guidance and Counselling of the Republic of Serbia given by Marija Petronijević, Advisor for Career Guidance and Counselling Affairs, Ministry of Youth and Sport and on the National Program for Career Guidance and Methodology for the work with the age group 19-30, given by Jelena Manić, Coordinator of Centre for Career Guidance and Counselling, Belgrade Open School.

At the panel discussion “Centres for Career Development at Universities in Serbia – state and perspectives – panel”, representatives of universities, business world and students tried to answer the question – in which way do the Career centres provide support to students in their development of career management skills and gaining the necessary competitive advantage on the labour market.

The conference was opened for public and had a goal to introduce a greater number of institutions and individuals from the area of education and employment with a concept of career guidance and inform them on various activities of career centres at universities. The conference was also an opportunity to present to a wider audience a kind of catalogue of university career services available to students, graduates and employers published in the publication about career guidance at universities which contains review of goals, activities, programs and achievements of career centres at five universities in Serbia.

Beside students, representatives of the academic and business community from Belgrade, the conference was attended by representatives of all project partners from the University of Belgrade, University of Novi Sad, University of Kragujevac, University of Nis, Singidunum University, Megatrend University, Student Conference of Universities of Serbia, Infostud, Public Enterprise “Elektromreza Srbije”, Belgrade Open School, University of Swansea, University of Padova and University of Silesia.

Project “CareerS – Development of Career Guidance aimed at improving higher education in Serbia” is realized within the Tempus program of European Commission as a structural measure with support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Republic of Serbia.

Beograd, 5. decembra 2012. godine - U svečanoj Sali Rektorata Univerziteta u Beogradu, sa početkom u 10 časova, održana je prva godišnja konferencija Tempus projekta „CareerS - Razvoj karijernog vođenja u cilju unapređenja visokog obrazovanja u Srbiji“.

Konferenciju sa temom „Univerzitetski centri za razvoj karijere – podrška profesionalnom razvoju studenata“ otvorila je prof. dr Ivanka Popović, prorektor za nastavu Univerziteta u Beogradu i prof. dr Slobodan Stupar, pomoćnik ministra za visoko obrazovanje iz Ministarstva prosvete, nauke i tehnologije Republike Srbije.

Uvodno izlaganje o projektu „CareerS - Razvoj karijernog vođenja u cilju unapređenja visokog obrazovanja u Srbiji“ - koji ima za cilj razvoj usluga karijernog informisanja, savetovanja i edukacije u cilju unapređenja zapošljivosti mladih, omogućavanje veće dostupnosti i raznovrsnosti programa karijernog vođenja u institucijama visokog obrazovanja, povećano prepoznavanje značaja karijernog vođenja od strane države, Univerziteta i socijalnih partnera i razvoj Programa za karijerno vođenje i savetovanje za mlade između 19 i 30 godina i Metodologije karijernog vođenja i savetovanja – imala je rukovodilac projekta Dejana Lazić, direktor Centra za razvoj karijere i savetovanje studenata Univerziteta u Beogradu.

Na konferenciji je u nastavku o strateškom planu projekta CareerS – realizaciji mera i aktivnosti Strategije karijernog vođenja i savetovanja republike Srbije govorila Marija Petronijević, savetnik za poslove karijernog vođenja u Ministarstvu omladine i sporta, a zatim Jelena Manić, koordinatorka Centra za vođenje karijere i savetovanje Beogradske otvorene škole, o Nacionalnom programu karijernog vođenja i metodologiji rada sa uzrasnom grupom 19-30.

Na panel diskusiji „Centri za razvoj karijere na univerzitetima u Srbiji – stanje i perspektive”, predstavnici univerziteta, poslovnog sveta i studenata pokušali su da odgovore na pitanje - na koji način univerzitetski karijerni centri mogu pružiti podršku studentima u razvoju veština upravljanja karijerom i sticanju konkurentske prednosti na tržištu rada?

Konferencija je bila otvorena za javnost i ima za cilj upoznavanje što većeg broja institucija i pojedinaca iz oblasti obrazovanja i zapošljavanja sa konceptom karijernog vođenja i delatnostima centara za razvoj karijere i savetovanje studenata na univerzitetima. Ovom prilikom široj javnosti predstavljen je i svojevrstan katalog usluga koje pri univerzitetskim centrima za razvoj karijere stoje na raspolaganju studentima, diplomcima i poslodavcima objavljen u publikaciji koja nudi pregled ciljeva, aktivnosti, programa i dostignuća centara za razvoj karijere na pet univerziteta u Srbiji.

Konferenciji su pored studenata, predstavnika akademskog i poslovnog sveta iz Beograda, prisustvovali i projektni partneri iz zemlje i inostranstva – predstavnici Univerziteta u Novom Sadu, Univerziteta u Kragujevcu, Univerziteta u Nišu, Univerziteta Singidunum, Univerziteta Megatrend, Studentske konferencije univerziteta Srbije, Infostud-a, Javnog preduzeća Elektromreža Srbije, Beogradske otvorene škole, Univerziteta u Svonsiju (Velika Britanija), Univerziteta u Šleziji (Poljska) i Univerziteta u Padovi (Italija).

Projekat „CareerS - Razvoj karijernog vođenja u cilju unapređenja visokog obrazovanja u Srbiji“, realizuje se u okviru Tempus programa Evropske komisije kao strukturalna mera uz podršku Ministarstva prosvete, nauke i tehnološkog razvoja i Ministarstva omladine i sporta republike Srbije.
